Recently, we had 3 dens of young cub scouts visit Badger Press, Inc. here in Libertyville. There were roughly 20 6-year olds along with several den leaders. We split the group in two...Dan led one tour and I did the other.
I was amazed at how many questions these young men had for us. They seemed very interested in our pre-press department, not to mention the folder and cutter. All in all, the educational tour took about an hour. As a token gift, each cub was given a Badger Press note pad.

What a great idea to share our industry with young people. I was just talking to an elementary school teacher about her 6th grade after-school program kids. I think we will set up a field trip for them to visit us soon!
What kind of things did you share with the Cubs?
Becky,
We gave them an overview of our computer to plate system. We wanted to make sure it wasn't over their heads, but with kids using computers at such an earlier age, they had no problems grasping the concept.
We also touched on the difference between PMS colors vs. 4 color process.
Additionally, we showed them the basic concept of how a press runs as well as a cutter, folder and drill. They were very eager to take home samples.
